Hi there,
I have run the sensors-detect already. When I run it the first time, it tells
to load the i2c-piix4 and eeprom drivers and I did. Then I run sensors, it
only listed the eeprom version and adaptor etc. No measurements such as
voltages and fan speeds being listed.
While checking the supported chips by the lm_sensors, it includes ServerWorks?
OSB4, CSB5, CSB6 but in HP Proliant DL320 motherboard, the main chipset is GC-
SL. Will this i2c-piix4 work fine with this or not? If not supported now, are
you going to update the drivers in the near future or could I have any
alternatives to make it work (we have 24 this type of machines, we are
desperate to get the monitoring work)?
Cheers,
Jim

If sensors listed the eeproms, it means that the i2c-piix4 driver works properly
with your ServerWorks? chip. The ServerWorks? chip, however, is only really a
bridge to I2C/SMBus devices, not a hardware monitoring chip by itself.
So, since sensors-detect didn't find any hardware monitoring device, either
there aren't any, or they are not known to us yet. You can send the full output
of sensors-detect to the sensors mailing-list for a detailed analysis. However,
know that Compaq has a long history of proprietary hardware monitoring systems
that lm_sensors cannot possibly support. This may be the case for this machine
as well.
