ICH7 I2C Driver speed ?

Reported by: ticket Owned by: somebody

Description

I'm using i2c-driver to connect to a device of mine, I've written a simple code to block_write to it 8 packets of 32 bytes. Everything works fine, but I see packets are delivered by an interval of 500ms, which really does not satisfy me. I'm not a Linux user, so problem may be in my code (which is a simple for cycle sending 8 packets), but I see i2cdetect and i2cdump utilities also execute kind of slow ... Can someone tell my why is that ?

This doesn't have anything to do with hardware monitoring, does it? The right place to discuss this is the i2c mailing list (which I see you found meanwhile) or  http://bugzilla.kernel.org/
